She is 21 and has two boys, 4 and 2. She has been at home raising children. For the past two weeks she has been volunteering at a day care center with the boys who want to be held by her and and sit next to her. She thought she would be paid by now to help with the family bills. What she really wants to do is study to become a dental hygenist. The best I can do is point her in the direction of vocational training.
I recognized him and he came over to talk to me. He is now 17 and will be graduating next year. He is attending an alternative high school with his girl friend, the mother of their two month old son. He wants to be either a radiology technician or an airplane mechanic. She wants to work, too. The best I can offer them is to be in the Be a Leader High School Institute that starts next Saturday, August 20 at ASU Downtown Mercado.
